Authorities are looking into the sighting of two lynx near Kingussie, raising concerns about their origin and safety
People are being warned not to approach the lynx. Instead, if anyone sees them, they should call the police and mention the incident number. It’s all a bit concerning, especially since these lynx weren’t supposed to be roaming around.
Conservationists are pretty upset about this. They’ve been working on a careful plan to reintroduce lynx to the area, but this illegal release has thrown a wrench in those plans. Peter Cairns from SCOTLAND: The Big Picture expressed his frustration, saying that this kind of thing isn’t how they wanted to see lynx come back to Scotland.
The Cairngorms National Park Authority is also involved, condemning the illegal release and stressing the importance of the animals’ welfare. They’re working with the police to figure out what happened and how to handle the situation.
Even local businesses are distancing themselves from this incident. Wildland Ltd. made it clear they had nothing to do with it, and their spokesperson called the situation “crazy.”
As the investigation continues, everyone’s hoping for a safe resolution. Keep an eye out for updates on this wild story!
