Authorities in Huyton intervene after a young boy is seen riding a motorbike dangerously, raising safety concerns for children on public roads
Huyton: So, there was this wild scene where police had to step in because a seven-year-old was riding a motorbike all over the place. Can you believe it? The officers from Merseyside Police got called after folks reported a scrambler bike being driven dangerously.
When they finally caught up to the bike, they were shocked to find out the rider was just a little kid. He mentioned that he got the bike as a Christmas gift. How crazy is that?
Now, the police are sending a clear message to parents. They’re saying that letting kids ride scrambler or quad bikes in public could lead to serious trouble. Brian Loughran, a local inspector, expressed his concern, saying it’s really alarming to see a child on such a vehicle on the road.
He pointed out that it’s illegal for scramblers to be on the road, and allowing kids to ride them is a big safety risk. The police took the bike away as part of their Operation Brookdale, which aims to tackle dangerous riding. They’d rather take the bikes than have to deal with a hospital visit, or worse.
