Authorities are on the lookout for a man following a shocking attempted rape in Manchester
Manchester: Detectives are on the hunt for a man after a terrifying attempted rape in north Manchester. The incident happened on a footpath near Rudd Street in Moston.
The victim, a woman in her 50s, was just walking when the suspect approached her. It was around 2:30 PM to 3 PM on Friday, January 3, when he attacked her.
When she screamed, the man took off. Police described him as a black male, about 25-26 years old, standing around 180 cm tall. He had dreadlocks, wore glasses, and was dressed in a black winter puffer jacket and black trousers.
Detective Inspector David Collins from Greater Manchester Police said this was a really distressing event for the woman. She was just going about her day when she was attacked.
He mentioned that they’re working quickly to find the person responsible and are asking the public for any information that could help. There will be more officers in the area to reassure the community.
