Nefyn will welcome a mobile postal service starting February 8, restoring vital access for residents after a year without local postal services
Nefyn: Great news for the folks in Nefyn! After being without a post office for over a year, a mobile postal service is finally coming back. It’s set to kick off on Saturday, February 8, and will be a real lifesaver for the community.
The village lost its post office in September 2023, which was a big blow. Local MP Liz Saville Roberts really pushed for this change, talking to the UK Government about how important postal services are for rural areas.
She’s super happy about the mobile service, which will be run by the postmaster from Betws y Coed. It’ll be in Nefyn every Saturday from 11:25 AM to 12:10 PM. That’s a nice little window for everyone to get their postal needs sorted!
Liz mentioned that the fallout from the Post Office scandal is still affecting communities, and she’s been on the case with both the old and new governments to get things moving. She knows how vital these services are for people living in rural spots.
The Post Office itself said they’re excited to bring this service back. They’ve got a specially designed vehicle for the mobile post office, which has worked well in other areas. It’s all about keeping the community connected.
So, if you’re in Nefyn, mark your calendars! This is a big step towards restoring essential services that everyone relies on.
