Freddie Pritchard received a two-year sentence for sex with a girl and arson, adding to his troubling criminal history
He’s 29 and has been added to the sex offenders register for ten years. He admitted to kissing the girl and taking things way too far when she was underage. It’s just awful.
Before this, he had a four-year sentence for the fire he started. The judge made it clear that this new sentence would run at the same time as his previous one.
His lawyer mentioned that Pritchard knew what was coming, but it’s hard to feel sorry for him. The sheriff, Mhairi MacTaggart, said she had really looked into this case and wasn’t impressed with his past behavior.
Pritchard’s been a real piece of work, sending nasty messages to the girl and her family. He even got 22 weeks for that. A social worker in court said he’s pretty manipulative, and they don’t trust what he says.
The sheriff had serious concerns about him and pointed out how distressing his actions were for the young woman. She also mentioned that he had planned this out, which is just chilling.
They’re keeping him away from the girl until 2028, which is good. After getting out of prison earlier this year, he didn’t even bother to tell his neighbors about his past.
The fire he started? Yeah, that was on purpose. He admitted to using a cigarette to ignite it but claimed he didn’t think it would get out of hand. The damage? Around £25,000 to £30,000.
The judge, Lord Young, was not having it. He called him out for laughing while the fire service dealt with the chaos he caused. Pritchard really needs to take a long, hard look at himself because this pattern of behavior is just not okay.
