Milton Keynes: It’s been a tough time for the community after two women lost their lives in a stabbing incident on Christmas Day. People are still trying to wrap their heads around it.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The police are saying he’s in custody, which is a relief for many.
The incident happened at a block of apartments on Santa Cruz Avenue around 6:30 PM. Sadly, the two women, aged 38 and 24, died right there at the scene.
Two others, a teenage boy and a man in his late 20s, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but are stable now, which is good news. Even a dog was hurt in this mess, but it didn’t make it.
Shazna Muzammil, a local councillor, expressed her shock on social media, saying it’s just horrible to see something like this happen, especially on Christmas. She’s sending thoughts to the families affected.
People have been leaving flowers and tributes near the apartment block, showing their support and sorrow. It’s heartwarming to see the community come together like this.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin is leading the investigation. He’s assured everyone that they’ve made an arrest and aren’t looking for anyone else, which should ease some worries.
He also mentioned that the people involved were known to each other, which adds another layer to this tragic story. The police are still on the scene, and they’re encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
