A restaurant has spoken out following the tragic discovery of a mother who died in their restroom.
Blackpool: A restaurant is in the spotlight after a mother was found dead in a toilet. Sabrina Lyttle, 47, had entered The Gurkha Buffet Restaurant on November 28 and was discovered three days later.
Authorities are still figuring out the cause of her death, but they don’t suspect foul play. The restaurant has released a statement explaining what happened.
They said Sabrina asked to use the restroom after hours. Staff directed her to the pub toilets, but the disabled toilet was locked and only accessible by staff. It wasn’t until Friday night that anyone tried to get in.
When staff and customers couldn’t unlock the door, they reported it as a maintenance issue. The next day, management tried to access the toilet but couldn’t, so they called the police.
The restaurant emphasized that they’re aware of rumors circulating online and that they’re not helping anyone involved, especially Sabrina’s family. They also mentioned an ongoing inquest into her death.
Her mother, Christine, noted that customers had trouble accessing the cubicle days before Sabrina was found. The police confirmed they were called to the scene and that the death is not suspicious.
