East Devon District Council has updated dog exclusion zones after community feedback, focusing on local parks and public spaces.
Honiton: So, the East Devon District Council just made some changes to the dog exclusion zones in a couple of local parks. They listened to what the community had to say, which is pretty cool.
They had a public consultation about the Allhallows playing fields and Kilmington Playing Field. Turns out, most folks wanted to change where dogs could and couldn’t go. At Allhallows, they decided to only keep dogs off the sports pitches instead of the whole playing field.
For Kilmington, they fixed a mistake in the original order. Now, dogs need to be on a lead at the playing field, which most people agreed with. It’s nice to see the council taking feedback seriously.
If anyone breaks these new rules, there’s a £100 fine. So, if you’re in the area, make sure to keep your pup on a lead or stick to the right spots. It’s all about keeping the parks enjoyable for everyone!
Councillor Geoff Jung mentioned how important it is to balance the needs of dog owners with the community. It’s great to see them working together to keep East Devon a friendly place for all.
