A man has been arrested after threatening police during a standoff in Romford, leaving another individual with minor injuries
Romford: A tense situation unfolded on Hailsham Road in Harold Hill. Police were called out around 6:45 PM on Sunday after reports of a domestic disturbance.
Things escalated quickly, and armed officers showed up due to the serious threats being made. After some negotiation, the man finally gave in and was arrested for several charges, including threats to kill.
He’s now in a secure unit for a mental health evaluation. Meanwhile, another man at the scene had some minor injuries but nothing too serious.
A spokesperson from the Met Police confirmed the details, saying they had to call in extra support, including the fire brigade and ambulance service, because of the situation.
After the man surrendered, he was taken to the hospital for a mental health check. Thankfully, this was an isolated incident, and the police have thanked their partners for their help in handling it.
