The Roslin Beach Hotel aims to extend its non-resident hours amid expansion plans
Thorpe Bay: The Roslin Beach Hotel is looking to change its current restrictions on opening hours for non-residents. They want to extend the time guests can enjoy the hotel’s amenities, especially with a big £10 million expansion on the way.
Right now, the hotel can only let non-guests stay until 11pm, but they’re hoping to push that to 1am on weekends and even later on holidays. They tried to get this approved last December, but it didn’t go through because of noise concerns.
Now, they’re suggesting a compromise: midnight every day and 1am on New Year’s Eve. The hotel’s managing director, Jacqui Dallimore, has been vocal about how these restrictions are unfair, especially for events like weddings and charity functions.
In her letter to the council, she pointed out that other hotels, like The Seven Hotel, don’t have similar restrictions. She believes that if they can’t operate later, people will just choose other venues.
Jacqui is eager to move forward with the expansion, which includes demolishing part of the hotel to make way for a new three-storey extension with five luxurious rooms. She envisions the Roslin as a shining star along the seafront.
However, local councillor Martin Terry has expressed the need to balance the hotel’s interests with residents’ concerns about noise. He acknowledges the hotel’s importance to the area but emphasizes that residents deserve peace and quiet.
It seems like there’s a lot to consider, and hopefully, they can find a solution that works for everyone involved.
