Manhattan: So, Rudy Giuliani is gearing up for a court date, and it’s a big one. He’s trying to convince the judge that he’s done everything he can to comply with orders about handing over his stuff to two election workers he defamed.
He’s been in a bit of a pickle since Christmas Eve, filing documents to ask the judge not to hold him in contempt. The election workers are saying he’s been dragging his feet, missing deadlines, and making it tough for them to get what they’re owed after a huge defamation verdict against him.
Giuliani claims the women, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, don’t even have the right to his property because they didn’t file the necessary paperwork. He’s set to testify on January 3, insisting he didn’t mean to break any rules.
In his own words, he said he’s given everything he could. He even listed 42 items he says he turned over, including some stuff from a storage unit. But the election workers are saying he hasn’t given them a dime or some key items he was supposed to hand over, like the title to his car and some personal belongings.
The judge has warned him that he could face serious consequences if he doesn’t get his act together. Giuliani’s been in hot water since he falsely accused these women of messing with the election results back in 2020. Now, he’s facing a mountain of legal troubles and could even end up in jail.
He’s got another court date in D.C. on January 10, just a week after the Manhattan hearing, for allegedly breaking a court order about repeating those defamatory statements. It’s a wild ride for the former mayor, that’s for sure!
