A417 will close tonight due to safety concerns from bad weather and freezing temperatures
Brockworth: So, here’s the scoop. The A417 is getting shut down tonight because of some serious safety issues. You know, all that rain we’ve had? It’s caused water levels to rise, especially on that steep part at Crickley Hill. They’re worried it might freeze and make driving super dangerous.
The closure starts at 9 PM, and it’ll be between the A46 roundabout and the Air Balloon roundabout. But don’t worry, folks living in Cold Slad can still get through, and emergency services will have access too.
National Highways is on it, saying they need to clean up the road and fix the drainage to prevent any water from spilling over. They’re really trying to keep everyone safe, especially with temperatures dropping to around -2C overnight. It’s going to be chilly, so stay warm!
They appreciate everyone’s patience while they sort this out. Just a heads up, it should be back to normal by around 11 AM tomorrow. So, hang tight, and drive safe!
