Desmond Nolan, 64, was sentenced for breaching a non-harassment order and other charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court
Saltcoats: Desmond Nolan, a 64-year-old guy, found himself in hot water after showing up at the wrong place. He was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court after admitting to several charges.
Back in March last year, he was told not to contact a woman, but he broke that rule on November 8 at Largs Railway Station and Main Street. Not cool, right?
He also had a non-harassment order from May 2021, which was supposed to last for ten years. That meant no contact with the woman and no entering Fairlie. But guess what? He broke that too.
For his troubles, he got 12 weeks in jail, starting from November 11. The sheriff, Laura Mundell, decided to hold off on sentencing for a couple of other charges he pleaded guilty to.
Nolan had another non-harassment order from September 2022, which he also ignored by contacting the same woman in Ardrossan. His lawyer, Rebecca Horton, asked the court to give him one last chance to turn things around.
Sheriff Mundell acknowledged that Nolan had been in custody since November and hinted that she could have given him a harsher sentence. But she chose to keep some cases open for now.
