Beinash Batool, convicted of murdering Sara Sharif, lands a cushy prison job.
Woking: So, you won’t believe this! Sara Sharif’s stepmom, Beinash Batool, got a pretty sweet gig in prison. While she’s waiting for her trial for the murder of 10-year-old Sara, she’s working in the library at HMP Bronzefield. And get this—she’s also cooking for other inmates!
Batool, who’s 30, was sentenced to 33 years after being found guilty of torturing and killing Sara. The poor girl went through unimaginable suffering at home. It’s just heartbreaking. During the trial, it came out that Batool was given this “easy” library job right away. A former inmate even said it’s the kind of job everyone wants because it’s not too demanding.
And it gets crazier! She was allowed to cook meals for her fellow prisoners during the Eid festival. Can you believe that? Meanwhile, the judge made it clear that Batool didn’t care enough about Sara to save her. Sara’s dad got 40 years, and her uncle got 16 years for their roles in this awful case.
Libby Clark from the Crown Prosecution Service said it best: Sara was a lively girl whose life was cut short by those who should have protected her. It’s just so tragic. Sara was found dead at home after her dad called the police from Pakistan, admitting he had beaten her. She had so many injuries, it’s just gut-wrenching.
It’s hard to wrap your head around how someone could treat a child like that. The abuse started when Sara moved in with her dad and stepmom in 2019. She was treated like she didn’t matter at all. The violence became so normal that even her uncle didn’t step in when he moved in. It’s just a sad story all around.
