A senior officer faces serious charges after an alleged attack on a woman in South London late last year
Sutton: A senior officer from the Metropolitan Police is in hot water. Superintendent Jamie Gordon, 41, has been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault.
It’s alleged that he attacked a woman while he was off duty back in December 2023. The incidents reportedly happened on the 8th and the 19th.
He was arrested on January 19, 2024, and has since been suspended from his position in the South East Command Unit.
Gordon showed up at Southwark Crown Court dressed in a black suit, pink tie, and grey overcoat. He denied the charges related to the December 19 incident.
Interestingly, he wasn’t asked to enter pleas for the other two charges. All three incidents are said to involve the same woman, who remains unnamed due to legal reasons.
Gordon, who hails from Rochester in Kent, has been released on conditional bail. He’s set to return to court on February 11.
