Seven individuals have been detained in connection with the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old in Derbyshire, prompting a police investigation
Ilkeston: So, there’s been a pretty shocking incident in Derbyshire. Seven people got arrested after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed. It all kicked off on Saturday night.
Police got a call around 8:20 PM from the ambulance service saying a man had been stabbed on Rose Avenue. When they arrived, they found the young man on the road with a stab wound.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead not far from the scene. His family has been notified and are getting support from specially trained officers.
Four boys, all 17 years old, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. There’s also a 52-year-old man and two girls, aged 15 and 16, who were arrested for allegedly helping an offender. They’re all still in custody.
The East Midlands special operations unit is leading the murder investigation. They’re asking anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage from the area between 7 PM and 9 PM to come forward.
DCI Claudia Musson, who’s heading the investigation, mentioned they’re in the early stages and treating it as an isolated incident. They really want anyone with info to reach out quickly.
