Anyone in Sheffield can start a digital petition on the council’s website. It’s a great way for people to rally support for causes they care about. Some of these ideas are pretty out there!
Take Brett Windle, for instance. He’s got a petition for building fallout shelters, just in case things heat up with Russia. So far, only three people have signed it, but he’s serious about the need for safety in case of a nuclear threat.
Then there’s Mohammed Faysal Ansar, who’s trying to keep the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible Theatre. His petition highlights how important this event is to Sheffield and how moving it could hurt the city’s vibe.
He’s also pushing for better recycling options and compost bags for food waste. Plus, he wants the council to tackle pavement parking, which can be a real hassle for pedestrians.
