A federal lawsuit claims Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs raped a 13-year-old girl at a party in 2000, sparking intense denials and controversy.
Jay-Z has come out swinging against these allegations, calling them a “blackmail attempt” and expressing his heartbreak over having to explain the situation to his daughter, Blue Ivy. He’s adamant that these claims are false and has urged the plaintiff to file a criminal complaint instead of a civil one.
On the other hand, Combs has also denied the allegations. He’s currently in jail facing federal sex trafficking charges, which he has pleaded not guilty to. The lawsuit originally didn’t name Jay-Z but later identified him as “Celebrity A.”
The girl claims that both men took turns assaulting her after she drank something that made her feel dizzy. She managed to escape by hitting Combs and running to a nearby gas station where her dad picked her up.
The lawyer representing the girl, Tony Buzbee, has a history of filing lawsuits against Combs for similar allegations. He’s been using various methods to find clients, including social media and press conferences.
In response to the lawsuit, Jay-Z criticized Buzbee, saying he exploits victims for profit. He emphasized that he’s not like other celebrities and that he comes from a background that values protecting children.
Meanwhile, Combs is facing serious legal troubles, including accusations of trying to tamper with witnesses while in jail. It’s a messy situation that’s only getting more complicated.
