Nottingham: Recently, a shocking incident unfolded in Wollaton Park. A group of young men decided to mess with a wild stag, pulling its antlers and slapping it. Can you believe that?

Wildlife photographer Chris Golightly was there and caught the whole thing on camera. She was horrified and immediately reported it to a park ranger. But the guys took off before anyone could catch them.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Just a few months ago, another guy had a close call when a stag knocked him over. It’s getting a bit wild out there!

Chris, who’s in her 60s, said she was just there to take pictures of the deer. She noticed a group of men getting too close to a resting stag. It’s just plain bullying, and she felt terrible for the poor animal.

After she reported it, the rangers tried to find the men, but they were long gone. Chris expressed her disgust, calling it an act of cruelty. It’s really sad to see people treating animals like that.

Police are now looking into the incident, and there are calls for everyone to give these animals some space. They need it, especially after a long rutting season.

Langbein Wildlife even posted about the incident, thanking Chris for bringing it to light. They reminded everyone that stags are often too tired to move and don’t need to be disturbed by people getting too close.

Wollaton Park is a beautiful place, home to a deer park and the stunning Wollaton Hall, which houses the Nottingham Natural History Museum. Let’s hope people start respecting the wildlife there!
