Alexander Westwood, a 24-year-old actor from Shropshire, was found guilty of multiple sexual offences against teenagers during acting classes, with sentencing set for February.
Wolverhampton: So, this is a pretty disturbing story. Alexander Westwood, the actor from Netflix’s Sex Education, has been found guilty of some really serious stuff. We’re talking about over 26 sexual offences, including against minors.
At just 24 years old, he was described in court as a “manipulator and predatory.” He used his role as an acting teacher to take advantage of young students. It’s just heartbreaking to hear how he abused his position.
The trial revealed that his first offence happened when he was only 10. Prosecutors said he had a troubling fascination with pornography from a young age. Two teenage girls came to him for acting help, but instead, they faced years of abuse.
One of the girls, who was studying drama in Birmingham, was repeatedly assaulted. Westwood would touch her inappropriately and even filmed her naked. When she tried to stand up for herself, he manipulated her into staying with threats about money.
His abuse didn’t stop there. Another girl was forced to endure horrific acts, including being made to drink his urine. The prosecution mentioned that if they listed all his actions, there would be hundreds of charges against him.
It’s just a tragic situation all around, and he’s set to be sentenced in February. Let’s hope justice is served.
