A disturbing video reveals a reckless driver speeding through Edinburgh’s streets, hitting 82mph in a 20mph zone, sparking outrage online.
Edinburgh: So, there’s this wild video going around of a driver in Scotland just flooring it through a residential area. Can you believe it? The guy hits 82mph in a 20mph zone!
The footage shows him weaving through traffic on Saughton Road North, and it’s honestly terrifying. He’s going at least 60mph over the limit, dodging parked cars like it’s a video game.
You can hear him in the video, squealing “woah” and shouting “woo-hoo” like it’s all just a big laugh. Meanwhile, he’s putting everyone around him at risk.
He speeds past Union Park and takes a turn onto Stenhouse Drive, still going way too fast. It’s crazy because there are clear signs showing the 20mph limit, but that didn’t seem to matter to him.
We don’t know when the video was shot, but it was posted on Instagram by a page called ‘HoodStigs’ on January 6. They usually share clips of dangerous driving, and this one definitely fits the bill.
What’s even worse? Apparently, he had a young passenger with him. People on social media are absolutely furious. One person even said they’d laugh in his face if he ended up in the hospital.
Another pointed out that a kid was killed on that very road just for going 30mph. It’s now a 20mph zone, and folks are rightfully upset about this reckless behavior.
It’s a serious issue, especially considering a tragic incident back in 2006 when a ten-year-old boy was killed by a hit-and-run driver on that same road. The driver got a hefty 12-year sentence for it.
Police Scotland has been contacted for a comment, but it’s clear that this kind of driving is just unacceptable.
