A man has been banned from all Boots stores in the UK after stealing goods worth £28,000
Worcestershire: So, there’s this guy, Craig Sawyer, who really went overboard with shoplifting. He managed to swipe a whopping £28,000 worth of stuff from Boots stores across the UK. Can you believe that?
He’s 51 and had this whole disguise thing going on. People started calling him “Satchel Man” because he always had this brown shoulder bag with him. He was caught at a Co-Op in Malvern and ended up in court for 16 theft charges, mostly from Boots.
He hit up stores in places like Evesham and Malvern, and even got nabbed for stealing from other shops too. The total for all his thefts was around £11,475.55 just in Worcestershire, but Boots said he was responsible for a lot more nationwide.
Now, he’s facing 42 weeks in jail and a five-year ban from all Boots stores. That means no more shopping sprees for him! He was also sentenced to an extra 22 weeks for some earlier thefts in Uttoxeter.
Local police are pretty pleased with how this turned out. They’ve been working hard to catch him and protect local retailers. It’s all about teamwork with the shops to keep an eye on these kinds of thieves.
So, if you’re thinking about pulling a stunt like that, just know the cops are watching and they’ve got a plan to catch you!
