Customers at Stowmarket Tesco are leaving emotional tributes for Oscar the cat, who recently passed away, touching many hearts in the community
Stowmarket: It’s been a tough week for the folks at Tesco. Oscar the cat, a beloved fixture at the store, was put to sleep recently. His owner, Sylvie Nolan, shared the sad news, and it hit everyone hard.
Since then, customers have been pouring in with flowers, cards, and even cat treats to honor him. It’s really heartwarming to see how much he meant to everyone.
Diana Church, who works at the customer service desk, mentioned how Oscar brought joy to so many. Some shoppers were even in tears when they heard about his passing. It’s clear he had a special place in their hearts.
One mom, whose child has severe disabilities, said they would come to the store just to see Oscar. He was like an emotional support cat for them, hanging out in the foyer where all the tributes are now.
Diana believes the flowers and cards are just the beginning of the outpouring of love for Oscar. She fondly remembered how he helped with charity collections and how much he was loved by everyone.
Gemma Logan, another Tesco colleague, shared that Oscar was a special comfort for her during tough times with her mental health. He always seemed to know when she needed a little extra support.
Wayne Leach, the store manager, announced that they would donate cat food to a local animal charity in Oscar’s memory. It’s a lovely way to keep his spirit alive and help other animals in need.
Oscar will be missed dearly, but the love and memories he left behind will surely stay with everyone who knew him.
