Online rap lyrics glorifying the murder of a 14-year-old boy have sparked outrage

Kelyan was caught up in a violent postcode war in Woolwich. Sadly, the killers are still on the run, and police are searching for two suspects who fled the scene with a machete.
After his death, sick rap lyrics surfaced online, boasting about the murder. They included chilling lines about Kelyan’s last moments, which only added to the family’s pain.
Mary described her son as polite and caring, but he fell into a dark world of drugs and gangs. She and family members had tried to pull him away from that life, even finding him late at night in Stratford, but he felt trapped.
He was linked to the Wildbatch gang, which is notorious for its control over the crack cocaine trade. Vulnerable kids like Kelyan are often lured in with promises of money and protection, but it leads to a dangerous life.
On the day he died, Kelyan had shared a story on Instagram asking for a “mindy,” which is slang for a knife. It was also his first day back at school, as he was trying to turn his life around after attending a youth referral center.
Despite his efforts, Kelyan had a troubled past, with 25 court appearances in just over a year for various offenses, including knife possession. His death has left a community in mourning, with many tributes pouring in.
