The sister of a missing British man believes he may have been shot dead in Spain
Alicante: The sister of a man who disappeared while on holiday in Spain has shared a heartbreaking theory about his fate. John George, also known as John Hardy, was supposed to fly back to Belfast before Christmas but never made it.
Since he went missing, his sister Courtney and others have been searching all over Spain. They started looking in the Alicante, Benidorm, and Torrevieja areas after he missed his flight home on December 18, wanting to be with his kids for the holidays.
The last time his family heard from him was on December 14 when he was driving from Alicante to Benidorm. After that, his phone went silent, and his loved ones rushed to Spain to help find him.
Now, Courtney believes he might be dead, according to reports. A search team from Northern Ireland, including a K9 unit, arrived in Spain on New Year’s Day to assist in the search.
A spokesperson for the team mentioned that they were heading to Alicante to join local search efforts. They’re hoping to provide updates soon.
Courtney expressed how much support they’ve received from family and friends in Belfast, all wanting to help find John. They’re searching in Alicante, Benidorm, and Torrevieja, and even offering a reward for information. They just want to bring him home for a proper burial.
John’s father, Billy, shared an emotional message on Facebook, saying he’s desperate to find his son. He pleaded for anyone with information to come forward, expressing how long this ordeal has been and how much he just wants his son back.
Police in Northern Ireland are working with the family and have offered to assist Spanish authorities in their investigation. They’re encouraging anyone with information to reach out, whether it’s photos, videos, or any tips that could help.
They’ve set up various ways for people to report information, ensuring that everything shared will be forwarded to the Spanish police.
