Waukesha: So, here’s the scoop. A woman named Morgan Geyser, who stabbed her classmate back in 2014, is finally getting out of the psychiatric hospital. A judge made the call on Thursday.

She’s been at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute for almost seven years after that brutal attack on Payton Leutner. Can you believe it’s been that long?

Back when they were just 12, Morgan and her friend Anissa lured Payton to a park after a sleepover. Morgan ended up stabbing her 19 times while Anissa cheered her on. It’s a wild and tragic story, and somehow, Payton survived.

The girls claimed they wanted to impress the fictional Slender Man and thought he’d hurt their families if they didn’t go through with it. It’s just so chilling to think about.

In 2018, Morgan was found guilty of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and sent to the hospital because of her mental health issues. Anissa, on the other hand, got a different deal and was released in 2021 to live with her dad.

Recently, Morgan asked the judge for her release again, marking her third attempt in two years. This time, Judge Michael Bohren was convinced she had made enough progress and gave her the green light to leave.
