Stranded at the Tan Hill Inn, guests receive essential supplies from Aldi’s snowplough delivery amid heavy snowfall in the Yorkshire Dales
Yorkshire: So, get this! Guests and staff at the Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in Britain, have been snowed in for days. They were running low on supplies, but Aldi came to the rescue!
Four guests and six staff have been stuck there since Saturday. Some brave souls managed to escape when a farmer cleared a path, but others decided to stay put. They had enough food for about 40 days, but breakfast items and red wine were running low.
Thanks to Aldi, who borrowed a local farmer’s snowplough, they got a fresh delivery of goodies. The care package included Malbec wine, sausages, loo paper, and even some board games to keep everyone entertained.
Nicole Hayes, the pub manager, was thrilled. She said, “Everybody needs a good pork sausage – we were absolutely chuffed when Aldi came to the rescue!”
Landlord Andrew Hields jokingly thanked Aldi, calling them “our knights in shining snow plough.” It’s nice to see some humor in a tough situation!
Farmers also helped out, guiding the stranded guests to safety. Hields expressed relief when he heard they made it. He mentioned how treacherous the roads can be, especially with snow drifts.
Even though the weather can be unpredictable, the Tan Hill Inn has been a welcoming spot for centuries. They’re not letting a little snow stop them from offering hospitality!
