During PMQs, SNP MP Dave Doogan was admonished by the Speaker for shouting at Keir Starmer over answers regarding Scotland visits and Labour’s polls.
Starmer said he visited Scotland soon after becoming Prime Minister and met with the First Minister during that trip. He cited other visits, including council meetings. Starmer stated he looks forward to visiting again soon.
Doogan then asked about Labour’s declining poll numbers in Scotland. He quoted Professor John Curtice’s assessment of the situation. Doogan asked if policies hurt Labour’s poll numbers. He mentioned Winter Fuel Payments and Grangemouth workers.
Doogan questioned attacking farmers’ payments and suggested Starmer bring the Chancellor on his next visit.
Starmer said the SNP used similar rhetoric before. He pointed to their former position in Parliament, noting that before the election, the SNP held more seats.
Doogan interrupted Starmer, shouting his response was the same as before. Speaker Lindsay Hoyle intervened and told Doogan to stop.
Starmer joked Doogan had to shout to be heard because they are now a smaller group.
