Nine-year-old Zak Dunne had an unforgettable day at c2c’s driver training academy in Southend
Southend: Zak Dunne, a nine-year-old train lover, got a special treat at c2c’s driver training academy. It was a post-Christmas surprise he won’t forget!
His adventure started when he wrote a heartfelt letter to c2c’s managing director, Rob Mullen, sharing his love for their trains. How cool is that?
On the big day, Andrea Barclay and Simon Smith from the training team made sure Zak had a blast. They set up a fun session in the simulator just for him.
Dave Selby even put together a special training pack filled with neat info about signals and the c2c routes. Talk about a thoughtful gift!
Zak got to step into the shoes of a trainee driver, diving into activities that sparked his passion for trains. You could see how excited he was!
Rob Mullen couldn’t hide his joy either. He said Zak was full of energy and had a great understanding of train safety and operations.
Rob emphasized how important it is to inspire young people to consider careers in the rail industry. Experiences like this can really light a fire in them.
Before the visit, c2c even sent Zak some goodies for Christmas. How sweet is that?
Zak’s dad, Drew, was over the moon seeing his son so happy. He praised the c2c team for their amazing effort, saying Zak loved every moment.
Drew added that this was an unforgettable experience for Zak, and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since!
c2c is all about encouraging the next generation to explore the rail industry. They believe in showing young minds the exciting opportunities out there.
Big thanks were given to Andrea, Simon, and the whole team for making Zak’s day so special. What a fantastic way to inspire a young rail enthusiast!
