Southwark: The council is reaching out to the community to find local heroes for this year’s Civic Awards. They want to hear from you about individuals or groups who deserve recognition.

You’ve got until January 31 to send in your nominations. It’s a great chance to shine a light on those who make a difference in our community.

The awards ceremony will take place on May 17 at Southwark Cathedral, coinciding with the election of the new mayor. It’s going to be a special day!

There are seven categories to choose from, including the Liberty of the Old Metropolitan Boroughs of Bermondsey, Camberwell, and Southwark. Plus, there’s the Young Citizen of the Year Award for those under 25 who show amazing community spirit.

Don’t forget the Southwark Together Award, which honors someone who promotes equality and inclusion. There’s also the Climate Champion Award for those making strides in reducing emissions.
