The Stamford Bridge Club has generously donated to local charities, aiding those in need.
Stamford: Recently, the Stamford Bridge Club stepped up to help the community. They made two significant donations to local charities.
John Prior, the club’s chairman, handed over a £1,000 cheque to Evergreen Care Trust. This organization does great work supporting older folks and those who need extra help at home.
Ed Bailey, who manages volunteer services there, was thrilled to receive the donation. But that’s not all! John also gave £750 and two big boxes of groceries to Stamford Food Bank.
Sian Fytche, the operations manager at the food bank, was really grateful for the support. It’s amazing to see local organizations come together to help those in need.
The Stamford Bridge Club is quite active, with over 700 members. They meet regularly for lessons and games at their clubhouse near Exeter Gardens.
If you’re interested in learning, they’re starting beginners’ classes on January 16. Sue Moss and John will be leading both daytime and evening sessions.
Each course runs for 10 weeks and costs £65. It’s a great way to get involved and meet new people!
