Beinash Batool, convicted of murdering her stepdaughter, has secured a simple prison job while serving her sentence
Surrey: The stepmother of Sara Sharif, Beinash Batool, has landed a pretty easy job in prison while she waits for her trial. She was found guilty of murdering her 10-year-old stepdaughter last month.
Batool, 30, is serving a 33-year sentence at HMP Bronzefield. Her partner, Sara’s father Urfan Sharif, got 40 years for his role in the crime. Reports say Batool quickly got a job in the prison library, which is considered a desirable position.
A former inmate mentioned that Batool’s role in the library is quite simple and something many inmates would want. She even got to cook for others during Eid, which is a significant celebration for Muslims.
Last year, the court heard about the horrific abuse Sara suffered at the hands of Batool and Sharif. They inflicted serious injuries on her over the years, and she was eventually removed from school.
During the trial, it was revealed that Batool didn’t call for help when Sara became unresponsive. Instead, they booked flights to Pakistan. Sadly, Sara’s body was discovered two days later, covered in injuries.
She was found with a note that said, “Whoever sees this note, it’s me, Urfan Sharif, who killed my daughter by beating.” Sharif later confessed to the police, saying he “legally punished” her.
The couple was labeled “evil” by the public and received life sentences for their actions. Sharif’s brother, Faisal Malik, got 16 years for allowing the abuse to happen but was not found guilty of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Emmerson described the case as “shocking” and “particularly disturbing.” He emphasized the tragic loss of Sara, a bright girl who loved to sing and dance, and the brutal violence she endured.
