Police found £70,000 worth of stolen whisky in a lorry after a chase on the M606 near Bradford, leading to two arrests.
Bradford: So, get this! Police were on a drink-driving patrol when they spotted a lorry that looked a bit dodgy. They tried to pull it over, but the driver just kept going. That led to a chase on the M606.
Eventually, the officers had to use a stinger to stop the lorry. When they opened the back, they found loads of boxes filled with Johnny Cree whisky. Can you believe it? That stuff is worth around £70,000!
Two guys in the cab were arrested right there because they couldn’t show any papers proving the whisky was theirs. The police said they weren’t expecting to stumble upon a whisky heist while on patrol.
Now, they’re digging into where the whisky came from. It’s made in Edinburgh and has some pretty fancy flavors like caramel and toasted oak. Sounds delicious, right?
Anyway, the police are serious about keeping the roads safe and stopping criminals from using big trucks for their shady deals. They’ve got their work cut out for them!
