A Stourport man has been sentenced to prison for trying to engage in sexual acts with a child, highlighting serious concerns about child safety.
He got arrested in Worcester on December 4 after the West Mercia Police’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team caught wind of his actions. When they pulled him over, they discovered some pretty disturbing stuff in his car.
They found cable ties, handcuffs, a whip, lubricant, amphetamines, Viagra, and even baby wipes. Plus, they seized his mobile phones to check for more evidence.
Davis was charged the next day but was released on bail with strict conditions, including not contacting anyone under 18. He faced the music at Worcester Crown Court on January 6.
The police were really alarmed by what they found in his vehicle. Davis, who lives on Langdale Road in Stourport-on-Severn, ended up getting a 32-month prison sentence. He also received a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and has to register as a sex offender for life, along with paying £150 in costs.
Detective Constable Richard Britton from the OCSET said they acted on intelligence that Davis was trying to engage in sexual activity with a child. He expressed relief that they managed to stop him before he could harm anyone. Davis will remain under strict supervision even after he gets out of prison.
