Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of Heather Rainey, a military veteran and mother, in Philadelphia earlier this year
Philadelphia: It’s been a tough few months since Heather Rainey, a 47-year-old mom and military vet, was shot near her car. The police finally caught a suspect, Tysean Forsythe, who had been on the run.
Heather was found on June 22, and her family believes she was shot while someone tried to steal her car. It’s heartbreaking. She was just a few blocks from home when it happened.
When the police arrived, they found her car running with the windows smashed. A hammer was even left on top. Sadly, she didn’t make it to the hospital.
Forsythe, just 21, was identified as the suspect but managed to evade capture for months. He was finally arrested while police were looking into a stolen car case.
He’s facing serious charges, including murder. The family is still reeling from the loss, and they’ve shared how restless nights have haunted them since the incident.
Heather’s niece, Charlisa, spoke about how much she meant to them. “She was a mother, she was a military veteran, she was a human being,” she said. It’s a tough reminder of the kind of person they lost.
Forsythe was denied bail during his first court appearance and is set to return to court on December 30. The family is hoping for justice.
