Police have named suspects linked to a large cannabis farm found on Smithdown Road, leading to arrests and charges.
Two guys were arrested on the scene. Their names are Lorenc Bashota, 24, and Aleks Xhelo, 35. They don’t have a fixed address, which is a bit sketchy. Both are facing serious charges for growing cannabis and having MDMA with the intent to sell.
They showed up in court the next day and are now waiting to go to Liverpool Crown Court. Inspector Leigh Price made a point about how dangerous these cannabis farms can be. Just last month, a fire caused by a similar operation forced people out of their homes in Huyton.
The inspector stressed that these growers often mess with electricity, which can be super risky. It’s a real concern for folks living nearby. He encouraged anyone who notices odd signs—like strange smells or lots of visitors at weird hours—to reach out to the police.
Merseyside Police is all about community help. They want people to report anything suspicious. If you see something, don’t hesitate to let them know. It’s all about keeping the neighborhood safe, right?
