A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced for violently raping a girl he met online
Liverpool: This is a really disturbing story. A 17-year-old boy befriended a girl on Instagram, and things took a horrific turn. After chatting and FaceTiming, he convinced her to meet at a train station.
But instead of a friendly hangout, he led her into the woods. There, he attacked her, strangling and slapping her while he raped her. It’s just heartbreaking to think about what she went through.
The court heard that he had a history of sexual offenses, which makes this even more alarming. He first reached out to her with a random follow request, and they started talking online. But during their first meeting, she noticed he was acting strangely and being overly touchy.
When they met again, he grabbed her arm and insisted they needed to talk about other girls. Then, he took her to a secluded area where he assaulted her for about 30 to 40 minutes. She was terrified and felt completely helpless.
After the attack, he even messaged her to check if she was okay, but she blocked him. Unfortunately, he didn’t stop there. He tried to contact her through fake accounts, which is just so creepy.
Eventually, the police got involved, and he was arrested. He tried to run away but was caught again shortly after. During questioning, he claimed it was consensual, which is just outrageous given what she experienced.
The victim bravely spoke in court about how this incident changed her life. She said she used to be happy, but now she struggles to trust people and feels isolated. It’s so sad to hear how deeply this has affected her.
The boy was found guilty and sentenced to over five years in a young offenders’ institute. The judge pointed out his previous conviction and the disturbing pattern of his behavior. It’s a tough reminder of how serious these issues are and the lasting impact they have on victims.
