A teenager filmed herself pulling a woman’s hair during a shared home dispute over a jumper, leading to a court case.
Gillingham: So, there was this wild incident where a teenager got into a fight over a borrowed jumper. Can you believe it? Cassidy Penney-Miller, just 19, pulled a woman’s hair while laughing and filming it on Facetime. Talk about immature!
The whole thing kicked off in their shared home on Marlborough Road. It all started with a disagreement about the jumper, and then it escalated quickly. Cassidy joined in on the attack after another woman began pushing and punching the victim, Kiera Prince.
While pulling Kiera’s hair, Cassidy was still on the call, which is just crazy. The whole ordeal lasted a minute or two, and it was pretty clear she was just being silly and reckless.
In court, Cassidy initially denied the assault but was found guilty. The prosecutor laid out how the argument spiraled out of control, and Kiera even wrote a statement saying it made her feel terrible living with her attackers.
But here’s the twist: Cassidy has since moved out and is trying to get her life back on track. Her lawyer argued that she was just being immature and not malicious. She’s even going to college now!
In the end, the magistrates decided to give her a conditional discharge, which means she won’t serve time but has to pay some court costs. She’s on benefits, so she’ll pay it off slowly. Hopefully, this experience helps her grow up a bit!
