During the trial, it came out that Dismore had been pretending to be a teenage boy online to lure her in. He bombarded her with messages, demanding she unblock him and even made threats to her life. Can you believe that? He sent voice notes to her mom with threats that would make anyone shudder.
The girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, shared how terrifying the whole experience was. She felt like she was going to die right there in broad daylight. It’s just heartbreaking to think about what she went through.
On June 22, 2023, the attack happened around 3 PM. After the stabbing, she was rushed to the hospital with a punctured lung. Dismore didn’t just stop there; he had a history of harassing other young girls too. He would groom them and blackmail them into sending him indecent images.
In court, the judge called him a ‘dangerous offender’ and made it clear that he would be on the sex offenders’ register for life. Dismore’s actions were described as insidious, and it’s a relief to see him get such a long sentence. It’s a tough reminder of how important it is to stay safe online and look out for one another.
