Schools in Cambridgeshire, and across the UK, are on alert after receiving threatening emails. Authorities advise vigilance and review of security plans.
There’s no specific threat to schools here right now. However, schools should still check safety plans and stay alert.
The headteacher at Cavalry Primary, Sarah Edwards, wrote to parents about the message. She mentioned a message on social media that followed sad news from Sweden.
The message talked about attacking UK schools and said that schools knew about a threat. Cavalry Primary, the local council, and the school’s trust did not receive a direct threat.
The message seems meant to scare people and might not be a real attack threat. The school takes safety very seriously, though, and practice fire drills often. They also do lockdown drills to secure the school quickly; staff and kids know what to do in these drills.
Westwood Primary sent a similar letter to parents and carers. If people are worried, they can call the school where staff will be there to talk about it.
