Three individuals have been arrested following a tragic incident where a man was fatally struck by a car after a bar dispute on Christmas Day
Blackburn: It’s a sad story that unfolded on Christmas Day. A man named Kirk Marsden, just 37 years old, was hit by a car after a fight outside a bar. The police say it all started at The Gate Street Bar and Grill.
After the altercation, Kirk was struck by a Toyota Land Cruiser. He was rushed to the Royal Preston Hospital but sadly passed away early on Boxing Day. His family is heartbroken.
Authorities have arrested three people in connection with the incident. A 58-year-old man without a fixed address and a 31-year-old from Blackburn were taken in on murder charges. A third suspect, a 26-year-old, was also arrested later.
Kirk’s family shared touching tributes, expressing how much he meant to them. They described him as a hero and said he would be deeply missed. His mother even posted a heartfelt message on Facebook, sharing a photo of him with his late father.
The police are actively investigating and are asking anyone with information or footage from that day to come forward. They want to piece together what happened between 4:30 and 5 PM on Christmas Day.
DCI Bryony Midgley reassured the community that they are increasing patrols in the area, as they understand this incident has caused concern. They’re urging anyone who might have seen something to reach out.
