Tucson: It’s a heartbreaking story. A good Samaritan named Paul Clifford, 53, went out to help someone with car trouble on Christmas Eve. Sadly, he was found dead near his own burned-out truck.

Two teenagers and a man have been arrested in connection with this tragedy. The suspects are Jack Upchurch, 40, Elmer Smith, 19, and a 16-year-old girl named Wendy Scott. They’re facing some serious charges, including first-degree murder and arson.

Clifford’s family reported him missing after he left home to help a stranger. He took his daughter’s truck to jump-start the vehicle but never came back. His body was discovered the next day near his smoldering vehicle.

His daughter, Sabrina, expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their hard work in solving the case. She shared on social media that they had suspects in custody, which brought some relief to her family.

The arrests happened after a standoff with the suspects. They were found in a home near Benson Highway and eventually surrendered to the police without any trouble.

In her posts, Sabrina described her dad as a gentle giant with a big heart. She’s been trying to support her mom during this tough time and set up a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
