The community mourns the loss of Tiarnán Trainor, a beloved boy who tragically died in a quad bike accident
Jonesborough: Tiarnán Trainor sadly passed away in the hospital after a quad bike accident on Thursday. His family and friends are heartbroken.
A Requiem Mass is set for Tuesday at 12.30pm in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Jonesborough. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Dublin Road, Cloughoge.
The police reported that the incident occurred on the Low Road in Killeavy. Tiarnán was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast but unfortunately didn’t make it.
His death notice described him as the “loved and cherished” son of Conor and Majella Campbell, along with their partners. He was also a “much loved brother” and “devoted grandson.”
Tiarnán was a regular at the St Paul’s Armagh Coaching School, and the Armagh Summer School shared a photo of him proudly holding the Sam Maguire Cup.
His local school and GAA club were quick to pay tribute, offering support to his family and friends during this tough time.
Killeavy GAA expressed their heartbreak over the loss of their under-14 player, saying, “A young life taken too soon.” They extended their condolences to his family and friends.
St Paul’s Bessbrook, his school, shared that the community is devastated by the news of their “esteemed pupil.” He was well-liked and recently elected to the Student Council.
The school oratory will be open for students and families to come together to remember Tiarnán and support each other.
The Education Authority’s Critical Incident Team will also be available to help students when they return to school next week.
Local MLA Justin McNulty mentioned that the community is left “devastated” by this tragic news.
Jonesborough Primary School also expressed their deep sympathy, acknowledging the profound loss felt by everyone who knew Tiarnán.
They described him as a warm and lively boy who will be fondly remembered by all. “May he rest in peace,” they added.
