A one-eyed rescue kitten and his brother have found a forever home with a loving family in Bury St Edmunds
Bury St Edmunds: A tiny rescue kitten named Benny and his bigger brother Teddy have hit the jackpot with a new family. They’ve found a home filled with love and other furry friends.
The story began when the RSPCA got a call from a dog warden in Slough. They needed a place for Benny, a little guy with one eye and a cleft lip. His family had been surrendered, and Benny was just 12 weeks old but super tiny.
After a vet check, they found Benny was healthy, just small for his age. He was born with one eye, but that doesn’t slow him down. He’s a lively little fella!
Sam Dye and Hannah Grimwood, the foster carers, took Benny and Teddy in. They’re now inseparable, and Sam can’t stop raving about how wonderful they are.
Sam shared that they already had three other cats: Charlie, Tony, and Merlin. Tony, who’s blind, really changed their perspective on adopting rescue cats. He’s such a loving cat, always wanting to cuddle.
When they saw Benny and Teddy on Facebook, they knew they had to adopt them. It felt right, especially since Benny would be a good buddy for Tony.
Living on a farm gives them plenty of space, and all the cats love snuggling up on the bed with Sam and her partner. It’s a full house, but they wouldn’t have it any other way.
Benny and Teddy are always together, playing and grooming each other. Even Tony and Merlin join in to help look after Benny.
Despite his size and one eye, Benny is a little ball of energy. He’s still figuring out how to jump, but he’s getting there. Sam says he’s grown a lot and now looks like a proper kitten.
