Tottenham: A fashion designer named Izzy Du had quite the adventure recently. She was just walking down the street when two guys on a bike snatched her phone. Can you believe it?

Instead of just giving up, Izzy decided to chase after them. She ran for about 2km and spotted them passing her phone to someone else. Talk about determination!

She managed to catch up with one of the thieves and even helped the police track them down. Using her laptop, she tracked her phone to a hedge and found six other stolen devices there too. What a find!

Izzy shared her experience with BBC London, saying it felt horrible when her phone was taken. She mentioned how everything she needed was on that phone, and it couldn’t have happened at a worse time.

While she was changing the volume of her music, bam! Her phone was gone. Even though the police gave her excuses not to search for it, she went after it anyway.

At least three of the recovered devices have been returned to their owners, some of whom saw her running after the thieves. A 16-year-old boy was arrested, but three devices are still with the police.

It’s wild to think that a phone gets stolen in London every six minutes! The government is really worried about this crime, which has shot up by 150% recently.

According to the Metropolitan Police, nearly 73,000 phones were stolen in London from January to November 2024, but only 750 were found. The police are stepping up their efforts to tackle this issue and keep Londoners safe.
