The Brockenhurst Young Farmers’ Club’s tractor run raised over £2,000 for local charities during a festive New Year’s Eve event
Brockenhurst: So, there was this awesome tractor run on New Year’s Eve, right? Hundreds of folks came out to watch as about 130 tractors and 4x4s cruised through the beautiful New Forest.
The Brockenhurst Young Farmers’ Club organized the whole thing, and it turned out to be a big hit! They raised over £2,000, which is going to help the Minstead Trust and keep their own headquarters in Tiptoe running smoothly.
People gathered at the New Park Showground, and then the convoy made its way to Beaulieu. Everyone was cheering at Hatchet Pond, and it was such a lively atmosphere! They even drove through Lymington High Street and Pennington village, which was pretty cool.
After passing the Rising Sun pub at Bashley, they wrapped up the route back in Brockenhurst. Club members and volunteers were out there collecting donations, making it a real community effort.
William Peters, a spokesperson for the club, said they had a blast organizing the event and learned a lot in the process. They’re already excited about planning the next tractor run for 2025!
By the way, the Brockenhurst Young Farmers meet every Wednesday evening and are always looking for new members aged 10-28. It’s great to see how they’ve bounced back from a tough time five years ago when they were nearly closing down. Now, they’ve got around 50 regular members!
