Traffic lights on Birmingham Road in Stratford are expected to be removed by the weekend, easing congestion for drivers.
Stratford: So, it looks like the traffic lights on Birmingham Road are finally going away by the weekend. That’s good news for everyone stuck in traffic!
People have been reaching out to the Herald, worried about those pesky lights that popped up again. They thought the roadwork was done before Christmas, but here we are.
The work on Birmingham Road is all about improving traffic flow and adding new drainage and paths. It’s been a bit of a hassle, but it should help in the long run.
Back in November, Warwickshire County Council said they finished phase one of the project. They widened the outbound lane to help with the traffic jam at the roundabout.
Now, they’re moving on to the next phase, which includes more drainage work and a new path along Birmingham Road. They mentioned there would be two-way traffic, but it might be a bit tight.
So, what’s with the traffic lights? A spokesperson from the council explained that they’re part of the ongoing improvements. They need to keep things safe while they work on the new drainage.
But don’t worry! They’re in touch with the contractor and expect to have everything back to normal by the end of the week. Just a few more days of patience!
