A two-year-old boy has died and four adults are injured after a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen Porsche in Birmingham
Smethwick: It’s such a heartbreaking situation. A two-year-old boy lost his life, and four adults were hurt in a hit-and-run crash with a stolen Porsche. Just awful.
West Midlands Police reported that the boy and the adults were in a Toyota Auris when a stolen Porsche Cayenne crashed into them. The driver of the Porsche took off, which is just so wrong.
They all got rushed to the hospital, but sadly, the little boy didn’t make it. Two of the adults are in serious condition, while the others are stable. It’s just a tough time for everyone involved.
Police were called to the scene on Dartmouth Road just before 11 PM on Saturday. They found out that the Porsche had been stolen earlier this month. It’s just so frustrating that someone would do this and then run away.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes expressed his condolences to the boy’s family and urged the driver to come forward. He said it’s time to do the right thing and talk to the police.
Witnesses are being asked to step up, especially if they have any video footage. The exact details of how the crash happened are still unclear, but it seems the Porsche was speeding away from a roundabout when it collided with the Toyota.
Local MP Sarah Coombes has raised concerns about speeding in the area, especially on Kenrick Way. It’s a real issue that residents are worried about, especially on weekends.
It’s a sad reminder of how dangerous driving can be, and it’s something we need to address as a community. We can’t let these kinds of incidents keep happening.
