Three individuals face charges after a man was assaulted in Byker, Newcastle, prompting police action and ongoing investigations.
Byker: So, there was this incident on Shields Road where a guy in his 30s got hurt. The police showed up on Friday after someone reported it. Turns out he had some minor injuries that looked like he’d been assaulted.
They took him to the hospital to get checked out. Meanwhile, the cops arrested three people: two men, aged 36 and 42, and a 47-year-old woman. They were all linked to the incident.
Northumbria Police said they’ve charged all three with affray and having an offensive weapon. They appeared in court on Saturday at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court.
The suspects are Amanda Dudley, 47, from Buteland Road, Amar Akhtar, 42, from Strathmore Crescent, and Rejen Karim, 36, also from Buteland Road. They’ve been released on bail but have to come back to Newcastle Crown Court on February 3.
