Birmingham: So, there was this crazy incident on New Year’s Day. A car was driven right into a crowd, and two women got hurt. They were just waiting for a taxi when it happened.

This all went down around 11:25 PM on Bordesley Street in the Digbeth area. A group of about 15 guys were having some sort of dispute when a light grey car came speeding towards them.

The two women, both 20 years old, were hit and ended up with serious leg injuries. Thankfully, they’re recovering in the hospital now. But it’s wild that no one has been arrested yet.

Police are looking at CCTV footage and asking anyone with dashcam video from that night to come forward. Det Ch Insp Jim Mahon from Birmingham Police called it an appalling attack, saying a car was used as a weapon.

He mentioned that this reckless act left innocent people hurt, and it seems like it all started from a dispute between two men. There’s also talk of another man who might have been injured but left the scene.

If you know anything about this or saw what happened, the police want to hear from you. You can reach out via 101, their website, or Crimestoppers. Just quote the reference number they provided.
